MAHIHKANAK DANCE TROUPE is an award-winning celebration of Indigenous youth and powwow dance culture. Students from grades 6 – 9 at St. Frances Cree Bilingual school bring their form of expression and style of dance to the troupe. We have junior and teen boys and girls in various categories: fancy, jingle, traditional, chicken and grass.
Led by the Indigenous Student Achievement Coordinator (ISAC), mahihkanak Dance Troupe makes various excursions and trips throughout the year including powwows, special events, schools & organizations. Members of the dance troupe must maintain good attendance and grades.
