Doors: 6PM. Showtime: 7PM.
Join us at the beautiful Broadway Theatre on Friday, May 16 at 7PM for a special screening of The Secret Marathon — an inspiring true story of courage, solidarity, and the fight for freedom.
When one brave Afghan woman ran in the Marathon of Afghanistan, she sparked a global movement for gender equality. This powerful film follows Canadian filmmaker Kate McKenzie and marathon legend Martin Parnell as they train and travel in secret to run alongside Afghan women who are risking everything for the right to move freely.
Presented by 30 Birds Foundation, in proud partnership with the Saskatchewan Marathon and Saskatoon Road Runners Association, this evening celebrates the resilience of Afghan women and the communities rallying behind them.
DON'T MISS! After the screening, we invite our guests to stay for a post-film panel discussion featuring The Secret Marathon cinematographer Colin Scheyen, Saskatoon’s own, and the courageous Young Women of 30 Birds, who now call this city home after fleeing Taliban persecution.
Don’t miss this unforgettable night of story, connection, and community!
