Friday - A 30th Anniversary Broadway Joint brought to you by Prairie Records! - 1995/ USA/ Dir: F. Gary Gray / 91 Min
A Lot can go down between Thursday and Saturday!
Just another day. But WHAT a day. A day that shows a lighter side of life in the 'hood. It's FRIDAY, and Craig (Ice Cube, BARBERSHOP) and Smokey (Chris Tucker, RUSH HOUR) must come up with $200 they owe a local bully or there won't be a Saturday. Co-writer Cube, director F. Gary Gray (STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON), and other innovative movie talents lace the plot with shrewdly hilarious looks at family (including John Witherspoon), a preacher (Bernie Mac), a girl next door (Nia Long), and all manner of the good 'n' bad of life in South Central. This is keepin'-it-real comedy, and a true stoner classic of the '90s.
This is a Broadway Joint screening generously presented by our good buds with great bud, Prairie records, (conveniently located across the street from us at 720 Broadway Ave!) and is therefor a 19+ event.
