Whether getting comedic mileage with classic bits on generational differences in families then and now; teacher terrors of public-school days; hand me-down hockey gear; party hearty camping trips with pals in those ‘bullet proof days of yore’, there’s something for everybody. ‘Ultimately though, ‘The Noise Between Our Ears’ sees Ron as the ever struggling ‘Everyman’, doing his best to make sense of a world off kilter while bedeviled by forces beyond his control, where airlines constantly lose luggage, stock portfolios nosedive, mortality’s the new reality and the barber spends more time trimming your ears than he does your head!

Well, Spring has sprung and as you would expect, snow will be replaced by the annual  "Eclipse Spring Concert". This year's production is "Trailblazers". By that we mean, we are dedicating this year's concert  to the artists and individuals that have totally changed the musical landscape and its evolution.   Artists and individuals such as: Harriet Tubman, Maya Angelou, Beatles, Beach Boys Quincy Jones, Cynthia Erivo, Harry Belafonte, to more modern artists: like Pink, Taylor Swift, Coldplay to mention only a few. This diverse group of artists and individuals has inspired our director, Roy Sydiaha, to arrange the music of the "Trailblazers" for your listening pleasure. So please join us on May 9th at our home, the Broadway Theatre, for a full spectrum of arrangements to satisfy everyone's musical palate.

Don't forget the "New" Eclipse band...or should I say Orchestra, now includes strings to accompany the original band that you have come to appreciate over the past 20 years.

Often working behind the scenes, Billy Strayhorn’s brilliance redefined the sound of big band jazz with unmatched subtlety and creative ingenuity. The Quiet Revolutionary celebrates Strayhorn’s legacy through richly orchestrated works that showcase the incredible depth and modernity of his musical vision. Featuring the SJO and Saskatoon Youth Jazz Orchestra.

In August 2023, Bobby released his fifth studio album and his first self-produced work, Pearl, recorded in Quebec. This 11-track record, inspired by the sea and created with his new collaborator Connor Seidel (1969 Collective, Charlotte Cardin, Les sœurs Boulay), explores modern jazz sounds blended with bossa nova influences, and was praised by Quebec, Canadian, and European media for its artistic maturity.

A year later, Bazini expanded his repertoire with the Stone of June EP, a collection of four more stripped-down songs recorded in a spirit of springtime spontaneity. Finally, on September 19, 2025, he will release Seul au cinéma, his second self-produced album — and his first in his native language...

10 albums and over 45 years into their storied career, Tuareg musical pioneers and Grammy-winners Tinariwen are returning to their roots. Fierce advocates for their people’s nomadic culture that exists in the desert borderlands between Mali and Algeria, Tinariwen’s bluesy, guitar-driven music has found global acclaim over the past two decades for its lively blend of Tamasheq-language politicism, syncopated rhythms and soaring melody. On Hoggar, their tenth album, they now stake their claim as elders of this Tuareg musical tradition, going back to their early years of songwriting with acoustic guitars and communal singing around the desert campfire, while also passing the torch onto a younger generation of featured musicians who can continue to keep the flame of rebellion and defiance alive. 

Typically choosing to record their albums among the arid flatness of the Central Saharan desert and tuning into the sounds of nature as they find their melodies, recent years and the political unrest in Mali have seen the band forced to find new locations for their creativity. Founding members of the band have relocated to Algeria and when it came to making their tenth record, they found a new home in a studio set up by younger Tuareg band Imarhan in the southern city of Tamanrasset.

Stars and Stories Presents: The Story of Merle Haggard

Be part of a special evening dedicated to one of the greatest artists in country music history - Merle Haggard. In “The Story of Merle Haggard”, JUNO-nominated singer Jess Lee will take you on a journey through Haggard’s incredible life and times through stories and songs. With a career spanning six decades, Haggard rose from poverty and prison to international fame through his songs about outlaws, underdogs, the heartbroken and the hard-living. Haggard wrote songs for the working class to drink to, dance to, and cry to. He notched 40 No. 1 hits including ”Working Man Blues”, “Mama Tried”, “Silver Wings” and one of the most famous country songs of all time, “Okie From Muskogee”. The show also includes the stories from Haggard’s life that echo the songs
he sang; he was born poor, raised in a converted railway boxcar and turned 21 in prison before turning his life around. 

Jess Lee rose to fame as the lead singer of the Midnite Rodeo Band, charting 14 singles and numerous awards in the '80's before Lee went solo with songs like "Crowhill Road". Praised by Country Music News as the best pure country voice in Canada, Lee effortlessly emulates the rich, smooth baritone of Merle Haggard.
